The Wansdyke

To most this field may look like just that: a field. However, to assume this would be to ignore a very important and mysterious part of British heritage the Wansdyke! The Wansdyke, part of which can be seen more clearly in the photograph to the right has been subject to speculation, and although we cannot truly know why it was built it is supposed to be some kind of territorial divide.

No matter why the Wansdyke was originally constructed, it is certainly a very interesting landmark. However on the newton park campus, as marked in the photograph, the majority of the wansdyke has been burried, most probably to make room for feilds full of cows!
